  • If Zakat is calculated in the Lunar Calendar, Zakat must be paid at the rate of 2.50% on Net Zakatable assets. For the Gregorian or English Calendar, the rate is 2.58% on Net Zakatable assets.
  • If a person who is not a trader of land, flats, houses, etc., buys land, flats, houses, etc., and sells them for profit, they will only pay Zakat for the previous one year. However, for regular traders of these properties, they will be treated as business inventory, and Zakat will apply accordingly.
  • This is a general guideline. However, for precaution, it is advisable to consult a knowledgeable scholar when calculating Zakat.
